Condominium and Business Members & Registration

WAvNA, organized in January 2012,  has consistently worked to engage a variety of stakeholders to address our neighborhood’s needs.  We are now reaching out to condominiums and businesses to expand our network and strengthen our influence with the City.  See below for a list of what WAvNA members have achieved.

Please, register your condominium or business as a member using the form below.  There are no dues or fees for membership.

The following condominiums and businesses are members,  committed to supporting WAvNA’s goals to ensure a strong West Avenue Corridor.

¤Raised awareness of our community as one of the most resident-dense, dynamic and diverse in Miami Beach and that we are more of year-round community than in years past.

¤Member-driven opposition raised awareness of a proposed ordinance to incentivize hotel development by reducing hotel requirements to provide off-street parking.  Members believe hotel development in the West Avenue Corridor is incompatible with the residential nature of our community.  In addition, members are arguing against the ordinance’s negative impact on all Miami Beach residents due to the resulting loss of funds that can be used to develop creative transportation solutions to address the Beach’s traffic problems.

¤Working with other neighborhood associations and City officials, WAvNA is seeking ways to build on the residential character of Miami Beach’s neighborhoods by encouraging development that fosters this desirable aspect.

¤Reminded City officials of the serious flooding issues in the Corridor and worked in support the Stormwater Master Plan that should bring much needed relief to our neighborhood’s flooding issues.

¤WAvNA members have attended Commission meetings and countless City Committee meetings to ensure the West Avenue Corridor’s interests are top-of-mind.

¤WAvNA members’ concerns about the studies underpinning the rationale for the West Avenue Bridge, resulted in the City commissioning a neighborhood-wide traffic analysis that will take a holistic approach to our current and future traffic issues.
